EXCURSIONS
IN THE REGION
You will remember a summer vacation in the Chiemgau for a long time to come.
So much fun for young and old – a varied vacation for the whole family.
The family-friendly and largest climbing forest on the Chiemsee is located in a forest of giant trees that is over 100 years old. Thanks to the different heights and levels of difficulty, everyone can decide for themselves how far they want to venture beyond their personal comfort zone – relaxed or adrenaline-filled from tree to tree.
There are two children’s courses from a height of one meter for climbers from the age of four, while older children can climb up to a height of 14 meters on our panorama course and discover Lake Chiemsee from a completely new perspective. A total of 13 courses of varying difficulty wind their way through the forest with over 110 different stations.
In the middle of nature, there are also opportunities for many events, from raft building directly on the lakeshore or archery to company outings with catering. You will receive the necessary equipment in the forest and after a safety briefing by trained staff, you will be optimally equipped for an experience under the treetops.
Minigolf fun directly along the shores of the Chiemsee!
Experience an originally designed and well-maintained minigolf course in beautiful, natural surroundings. The levels of difficulty of the 18 tournament-appropriate holes are always well mixed – easier ones to “take a breather” alternate with really tricky challenges.
Whether as a couple or with the whole family – the focus is always on having fun in the fresh air! And at the end of the round, you can enjoy a refreshing drink with a view of the lake.
The Ruhpolding amusement park offers fun for the whole family. There are numerous attractions on a good 5 hectares, from the fast-paced Gipfelstürmer mountain rollercoaster to the cozy Bavarian Bockerlbahn.
There are various rides and attractions for young and old at the Ruhpolding leisure park. You can ride dragons on the Siegfried dragon ride, dig for gemstones like dwarves in the crystal mine and then listen to stories in the world of legends and fairy tales. In the slide paradise, there are various slides, including the 60-degree steep hell slide. In the play and adventure world, a hands-on area with trampoline, swings and slides awaits visitors.
The “Café Alm” park bistro and the “Tischlein Deck Dich” restaurant with an indoor playground for children provide refreshments.
Daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (from the end of March to the beginning of November)
The Eichental valley is located not far from the center of Prien and is a real gem. A leisurely walk leads along the Mühlbach stream, past a fish breeding station and the old water mill wheel. Old giant trees provide pleasant shade on hot summer days. There is also a stationary exercise trail with a total of eight stations.
Experience the healing power of water: in the Kneipp pool opposite the exercise trail, you can strengthen your immune system and alleviate your ailments.
The hiking trail leads through the “Eichental” spa park along the Prien with many interesting stations such as the Kneipp facility, the E-Werk and the Aumühle.
Oberaudorf is home to a summer toboggan run with the world’s only 360-degree super traffic circle and a length of 1,100 m
The new, extra-long and TÜV-certified summer toboggan run in Oberaudorf winds its way from the middle to the valley station of the Hocheck cable car like a mountain rollercoaster. The toboggan itself is very easy to operate using a brake lever that controls the speed.
Even the little ones can ride along without any worries. In the double toboggan, parents ride in the back and have their child safely in front of them. Children under the age of eight must ride with an adult.
Parking spaces are available free of charge.
The Prien torrent is a magical place to hike all year round. The Priental river landscape with its countless bridges, wildly romantic and gentle passages and brilliant waterfalls has become a natural recreational area for the whole family: there are information boards along the banks with amusing illustrations providing interesting facts about the torrent and its history. Aschau offers exciting adventures and peaceful relaxation for young and old around the crystal-clear waters of the Prien.
Immerse yourself in the eventful Priental valley – for example on a day hike from the source to the mouth or on a voyage of discovery to the riverside biotopes. The four Prien neighboring communities of Aschau i. Chiemgau, Frasdorf, the historic market town of Prien am Chiemsee and Rimsting are “on board” with this concept.
With a Prien guest card, you can travel free of charge by train between Prien and Aschau i. Chiemgau – the Chiemgau Bahn – to get back to your starting point.
GUIDED TOUR – Since 2016, the family trail guide “With Vroni & Toni on Tour” has been available for the first time, leading hikers on their very own paths through the Priental river landscape. With interactive tasks, nature games and collective activities, the whole family discovers the landscape and wildlife from a new perspective. For more information, please contact the Tourist Info.
The fairytale adventure park in Marquartstein is a popular destination for families.
The 3.5-hectare park promises fun and games with many varied attractions. The grounds include a summer toboggan run, a park railroad, a children’s construction yard, a water play garden and a petting zoo.
You can also take part in a snail race on the pedal coaster, try your hand at rodeo riding on the “Stubborn Donkey” or test your courage in the fun gondola. A shady forest playground and a garden with flowers round off the park.
The Café Restaurant Jägerwinkl provides refreshments, while a barbecue area and a picnic hut are available for self-catering.
Café Pauli is a great excursion tip. Whether by car or on a bike tour with our e-bikes, it’s always worth a trip. The large grounds with a direct view of the Alps promise enjoyment, coziness, fun and games.
Delicacies such as homemade cakes and tarts, Bavarian snacks, various coffee specialties and local beers will make your taste buds beat faster.
The animal park with donkeys, ponies, rabbits, goats and much more will keep the little ones entertained. The children’s playground also invites you to run around and play.
The little honey bee guides you through the pram-friendly circular trail with information stations through the moor. Let yourself be surprised!
